More than a century after 17-year-old Carl Muller launched sightseeing tours on the St. Croix River, the family business he started is preparing for its next chapter. As Taylors Falls Scenic Boat Tours celebrates its 120th season, a fifth generation is helping carry the legacy forward.
Owners Amy Frischmon and Dan Raedeke welcomed passengers aboard to commemorate the milestone on May 16 and celebrate an achievement few family businesses ever reach: five generations of continuous family ownership and operation.
Frischmon and Raedeke told guests at the anniversary event that only about 1% of family businesses make it to the fifth generation.
