The Apple River Solar Project is nearing completion. Starting in fall 2024, it is scheduled to finish by November and will then begin operations. The 100-megawatt project will provide alternative power to the area. They celebrated their progress so far and thanked landowners for their partnership.
“We're out to celebrate the almost completed construction project here at Apple River. We always like to do this, bring the community and the landowners out to thank them for all their support and welcoming us into the community,” Chief Development Officer Jeff Ringblom said. “And hopefully, we've done a good job at being fosters of their land.”
A few tents were set up for the celebration. There was lunch being served, goodie bags handed out, and a large plaque for attendees to sign. With only some panels still needing installation, the rest will be connected to the grid from the substation. The project spans about 1,000 acres and will supply power to tens of thousands of homes.
