After a presentation by Kelly Shipley, Government Affairs and Public Policy Director with Brightspeed, at its Jan. 8 meeting, the Barron County Executive Committee unanimously gave its endorsement to a Public Service Commission application for bringing broadband to unserved or underserved communities in the county.
Funding is sought through the PSC's Broadband Equity, Access and Development program, which requests a Letter of Endorsement from the unserved or underserved's governmental entity. The endorsement increases its likelihood of receiving grant funds.
