Germain hopes to establish a family-friendly alternative with The Carriage Coffee

Renee Germain had a couple of visions in mind when she opened The Carriage Coffee in January.
She wanted a ‘family, friendly alternative’ in the Osceola area in addition to where youngsters could hang out at 111 Cascade Street North.
That’s why it’s open 2-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
“There was a gentleman mentoring a 16-year-old in here recently,” she explained. “If it wasn’t for me that might not be taking place.”
Another goal is simple, but can be difficult.
