Health care, trades lead job growth

Communities along the St. Croix River, including Osceola, are expected to experience job growth in health care, construction, and information technology, according to a new forecast for 2022–2032.

The Department of Workforce Development’s outlook for Workforce Development Area 8 — which includes counties like Polk, Burnett, St. Croix, Dunn, Pierce, Barron, and Chippewa — indicates that local demand will follow statewide trends while highlighting the region’s strengths in manufacturing and healthcare.

Technology jobs, including software developers and computer support specialists, are expected to grow in the Osceola area thanks to proximity to the Twin Cities market.
