Housing, childcare and industry are among the items at the top of the list of concerns for Amery. The Amery Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) is at work on these issues and looks forward to seeing more new projects starting soon.
The Amery Economic Development Corporation is separate from the city and helps with the long-term development of businesses and housing.
The organization is helping with parts of four housing projects that want to come to Amery. One is close to having a developer’s agreement. The group is also working on getting another hotel located in Amery. The AEDC did a hotel study in 2013, and at that time, it didn’t help land a hotel, but talks continue. Fast-forward to today and looking at tourism and having others from outside the community visit would add value to the city of lakes.
