Reasons for hope and concern over campus future

Major repairs and new uses for the UW Eau Claire-Barron County campus were discussed by the Barron County Property Committee at its monthly meeting Monday, Aug. 5.
The campus heating system is in need of repairs estimated at more than $2.6 million. But Barron County, which owns the land and is responsible for maintenance, has not been quick to rubber stamp the cost, citing a lack of bids and declining enrollment on campus.
