BLS Data: Wisconsin Adds 900 Nonfarm Jobs in December, Unemployment Rate Dips to 3.2%

The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) preliminary employment estimates for the month of December 2022, which showed Wisconsin added 900 nonfarm jobs over the month and 60,000 jobs over the year.
The data also showed that Wisconsin's unemployment rate dipped to 3.2% in December, down 0.1 percentage point from 3.3% in November. The labor force participation rate was 64.7%. Nationwide for the month of December, the unemployment rate was 3.5% with a labor force participation rate of 62.3%.
