Gander Outdoors opens in Eau Claire

Gander Outdoors, formerly Gander Mountain, opened today on Eau Claire’s far southeast corner.
Now owned by parent company Camping World Holdings, the outdoor merchandise retailer reopened the 65,000-square-foot store at 6440 Scully Drive that closed last year.
A grand opening event is planned for Saturday, which will include food and workshops for making fishing lures and duck calls, according to a Gander Outdoors news release.
It is among 10 of the former Gander Mountain stores reopening under new corporate ownership in the state. The other stores are in Appleton, Baraboo, DeForest, Green Bay, Janesville, Kenosha, Onalaska, Rothschild and Sheboygan.
