MADISON, WI.  – The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has named David Callender as its communications director.

Callender joins WEDC after serving as communications director for the nonpartisan Wisconsin Policy Forum (WPF), where he helped guide the merger of the Madison-based Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance (WISTAX) with the Milwaukee-based Public Policy Forum (PPF) in 2018. He served as WISTAX’s communications director beginning in 2016.

In his new role at WEDC, Callender will draw on his extensive background in journalism, state and local government, and public policy. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Sunday Times of London, The Guardian, and The Capital Times.
