Construction bolsters Eau Claire’s coffers

Stronger than anticipated construction means a budget bonus for the city of Eau Claire.
City staff had projected a 1.5 percent increase in property value because of new construction in Eau Claire this year, a total similar to the past couple of years. But that number is actually up 2.24 percent over last year, meaning the city will have $200,000 more in the 2017 budget than officials had anticipated.
