Eau Claire (WQOW) – The City of Eau Claire is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to developing affordable housing.
The Eau Claire City Council approved the purchase of land near Jeffers Road for an affordable housing development.
The city hopes 25 to 30 single-family homes can be built on the 20 acres of land purchased. The site will include public green space with woods and possible hiking trails.
The homes will be connected to Jeffers Road on Andy Lane which is currently mapped but undeveloped.
