University engaged in $35 million fundraising effort

MENOMONIE — UW-Stout announced the public phase of its $35 million fundraising campaign that will focus on campus, student and faculty improvements.

To date the Pathway Forward fundraising campaign has raised $30.6 million, which is 87 percent of the university’s goal. The goal is to raise $35 million by June 30, 2020.

Chancellor Bob Meyer has raised the stakes and challenged the Stout University Foundation to hit an aspirational goal of $40 million.

“I think it will be a pretty good challenge,” he said.

Mark Parsons, vice chancellor for university advancement and marketing, said this is the largest fundraising campaign in UW-Stout’s history.

“It’s important to keep Stout on the cutting edge,” he said.

He explained that funds are being focused into three major areas; student experience, learning environments and program innovation.

Funds would go toward student scholarships, faculty support, lab modernization, modern learning technologies, operational funding for labs, academic program upkeep, collaborative partnerships and the creation of new schools and centers.
