Chippewa County offers a pro-business atmosphere and opportunities for growth for new and existing businesses in all of its key communities: Bloomer, Boyd, Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Cornell, Lake Hallie, New Auburn and Stanley.

Among the county’s top private sector employers are Associated Milk Producers Inc., Berry Plastics, Cray Inc., TTM Technologies Inc., Nordson EDI and Spectrum Industries, which was named 2014 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce.

The county is home to exceptional educational institutions including the Chippewa Valley Technical College, which offers customized training to meet the workforce needs of area businesses. Additional universities and colleges such as Globe, Lakeland, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stout are easily accessible to Chippewa County residents.

Chippewa County is served by a network of state and U.S. highways: U.S. Highway 53 and State Highways 27, 29, 40, 64, 124, 178. Air service is provided by the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, and three railroads–Union Pacific, Progressive Rail and Canadian National–serve Chippewa County.

The county, communities and the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation work together with area businesses to provide site selection, workforce training and financing assistance. The Chippewa Valley Innovation Center, a small business incubation center, offers facility, managerial, technical, and financial assistance to new and emerging businesses.

An available Regional Business Fund Inc. program promotes business and economic development. with funding options such as a Revolving Loan Fund, Micro Loan Fund, Technology Enterprise Fund, and EDA funding.  Other available incentive packages can be customized for quality prospects.

Historic sites and museums, unique shops and an abundance of recreational opportunities— including hiking, golfing, snowmobiling, and canoeing—play a role in attracting talent to live and work in Chippewa County.
