Northside Elevator won the Momentum West’s Top Development Project of the Year Award in 2022 for constructing their new $20 million master-planned facility complex at Stanley’s West Industrial Park in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. The new facility features several warehouses, office space, a fertilizer plant tower system, and a corn drying bin.

“Northside Elevator’s development of the new agronomy facility is a testament to their commitment to Wisconsin,” said Steve Jahn, Executive Director of Momentum West. “With over 75 years of experience, this family-owned agricultural business continues to offer the community a valuable resource, the workers good-paying jobs, and a legacy of perseverance.”

“Our business is entering its 75th year, and although this physical expansion is brick and mortar, the true heart of our business has always been customer service,” says Ted Brussow, Northside Elevator President. “The site will support modern Wisconsin agribusinesses through a state-of-the-art production facility, advanced logistics, and outstanding customer service. The centerpiece of the project is a tower system fertilizer manufacturing plant. This system produces consistent high-quality fertilizers at the speed needed for farmers to have a successful planting season. A rail spur will be constructed for more efficient procurement of production materials. A warehouse will create greater flexibility in purchasing and storing fertilizer seed and serve as an internal distribution hub.”

From a Local Feed Mill to a Regional Agricultural Hub, Northside Elevator’s Facility Development Paves the Wave for Another 75 Years of Success

Northside Elevator is a family-owned agricultural business in Loyal, Wisconsin, that offers a full line of services for the agriculture industry, including the manufacture of animal feed, onsite dairy nutritional consulting, commodity contracting, grain storage, grain marketing and agronomy services such as crop advisors, custom fertilizer blending, seed treating and crop protection products and services.

Started in 1948, the company has had a long history of providing good-paying jobs to Wisconsinites. With the completion of the Stanley expansion, Northside Elevator anticipates hiring eight to ten employees—mainly in the transportation and logistics field.

“The investment will further showcase Northside’s comprehensive approach to agronomy products and services—a key component of Northside’s 360º Consulting program,” explained Brussow. “This new location, coupled with existing facilities in Loyal, Wisconsin, will provide greater efficiency in the distribution of products with reduced travel time for application equipment. Location adjacent to Wisconsin State Highway 29 will enhance transportation options and allow for support of customers in the Chippewa Valley area and other regions throughout western Wisconsin.”
