Eau Claire is in the process of becoming the first county in Wisconsin to be ACT® Work Ready certified. The foundation of a community’s certification is based on individuals at the county level earning an ACT WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate™ (NCRC®) and employers recognizing the NCRC®. The NCRC® is an industry-recognized credential that clearly identifies an individual’s essential workforce skills that are required for 77 percent of jobs.

Representatives from Eau Claire County’s local government, economic development, workforce development, community/technical college, K-12 system, and business/industry are all participating in our efforts to become ACT® Work Ready certified. 62 businesses in Eau Claire County already support and recognize the NCRC®, signifying their dedication to increasing our economic development and workforce satisfaction.
