St. Croix EDC honors bests businesses

Leaders and members of the St. Croix Economic Development Center came together on Thursday, Feb. 22 to recognize the 2017 winners for business of the year.

Ciro, LLC of Hudson was honored as the 2017 Emerging Business of the Year. The award is presented to companies based in St. Croix County that have been in business for five years or fewer.

Ciro designs products for power sports enthusiasts, including accessories for motorcycles such as LED lighting, holders and more. Founder Aero Rudd accepted the award.

The Small Business of the Year award, with 29 or fewer employees, went to Skycoat LLC of the village of Baldwin. Skycoat is an industrial coating and finishing service company founded by Patrick Traynor.

Aladtec, Inc. was named the Business of the Year with 30 or more employees. Aladtec is a software company that provides online scheduling and management to public safety services. Aladtec was set up by Dave Feyereisen, Leo Langlois and Chad Clay.

The EDC Directors Award was awarded to Denny Darnold, the retired Hudson Community Development Director.
