Statewide, online sourcing tool is free and allows opportunity to showcase full capabilities

The statewide Supply Chain Marketplace has unveiled a Foxconn-specific directory for Wisconsin companies seeking to be part of potential business opportunities with the manufacturer.  Foxconn Technology Group announced on July 26 that it planned to invest $10 billion by 2020 to build a world-class manufacturing campus in the state.

Since then, New North Inc., the Momentum West equivalent in the northeast part of the state, has been working closely with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), and other partners to build a supply-chain directory tailored specifically to Foxconn.  As of today, any interested company can join the Foxconn directory by submitting a profile.

“We see the Supply Chain Marketplace as the place where companies can go to take concrete steps to get in line for Foxconn,” says Jerry Murphy, executive director of New North Inc.  “Once a company has entered a profile, it will be added into the appropriate directories by virtue of clicking a box.  We believe that the Supply Chain Marketplace will serve as a primary ‘Wisconsin’ resource tool for Foxconn to use, now and in the future.”

The goal of the Supply Chain Marketplace is to connect suppliers and buyers.  It allows companies to find new customers and to reach new markets by highlighting their capabilities, and by making connections.  Free of charge, any business in the state is eligible to enter a profile at www.WISupplyChainMarketplace.com.

It is vital for a participating company to provide a complete picture of its capabilities, according to Murphy, to ensure receipt of the appropriate opportunities.  Company listings may be searched via key words, certifications, ownership, along with industry-specific categories and more.  Nearly 30 industry categories currently exist within the Supply Chain Marketplace, and more will be added as needed.
