Grand Fete offers kitchen needs, classes and inspiration

After running Urban Olive and Vine for seven years, owner Kay Timm said something was still missing.

"We were fulfilling our customers' need with olive oil and vinegar, but there seemed to be a lot more interest in additional kitchen items," Timm said.

So she joined with Lynn Ulrich and Jane Wegand to open Grand Fete, a kitchen supply store located at 512 Second St. Together the three have experience in various aspects of business, including merchandising, buying and marketing.

"We all kind of bring something different to the table" Wegand said.

Open now, the store features a variety of kitchen items from pots and pans to table settings. Ulrich said the most important factor in everything they sell is quality.

"You'll also find whimsy, but quality is first," she said.

With all the different shops lining Second Street, Ulrich said this new store fills a niche.
