Dreams on tap: Amery Ale Works becomes labor of love for local entrepeneur

When city dwellers Jenna Johnson and her then husband first fell in love with the property that used to be Quietwood Antiques several years ago, they had big plans for romantic barn weddings and happy ever afters.
But before they could make those things happen, she ended up single, displaced in the woods of northwest Wisconsin far removed from the city life she’d always known and the software developer job she telecommuted to every day.
Like most divorcees, Jenna took some time to step back and find herself again. Her five-acre property in Black Brook Township was the perfect spot for that, and for brewing even bigger ideas.
There’s a saying about lemons and lemonade. Jenna Johnson knows it well. And she’d probably figure out a way to add some yeast and hops to it too.
It wasn’t long before Jenna’s one-time hobby of home brewing gave way to the niche idea of Amery Ale Works.
