City forms new 'Tourism Commission'
25 Jan 2017
In accordance with laws set forth in Act 55, the City of Amery formed a state-mandated tourism commission last week.
Added as a ‘New Business’ item to the agenda, the new would be responsible for recommending the city’s Room Tax rate, and partner with a designated local non-profit to spend 70 percent of those funds toward tourism-related activities.
The council was given short notice to review the details of the new commission, and began a lengthy discussion as to the new group’s makeup.
