From natural resources to tourism, Fox continues to serve community
Thursday, November 17, 2016
For over 28 years Julie Fox worked for Interstate Park here in the St. Croix River Valley. For the past 28 years she held the title of Natural Resource Educator and prior to that she worked, while in high school and college, in other positions for the park. This work was all part of the Wis. Department of Natural Resources. Now Fox has moved from Natural Resources to Tourism, a transition that utilizes a surprising amount of Fox’s expertise and experience from her career at Interstate Park.
At the park, Fox explained, she was “primarily in charge of the Interpretive Program, which included personal services, such as guided hikes, children’s programs, and scheduling special events, and non-personal services like writing brochures and event announcements, creating wayside exhibits, and promotions with local newspapers and radio programs. All of that was my responsibility as well as working with school programs and any other requested programs.”
