EC council given ideas about public markets

A public market in Eau Claire must be big enough to attract people from across the Chippewa Valley but not so large that its costs make such a project unworkable, a consultant hired to study the subject told the Eau Claire City Council on Monday.
“You need to find the right size for a market that brings people there,” Ted Spitzer, a consultant with Portland, Maine-based Market Ventures, said. “But the large public markets you see in some bigger communities just don’t seem feasible here.”
