Xcel Energy donation pushes Confluence fundraising near goal

A $250,000 donation from Xcel Energy announced Tuesday will kick off a final push that local officials hope will bring private fundraising for the Confluence Arts Center to the $15 million goal by the time construction is scheduled to begin in September.
“We’re on the last leg of our local fundraising,” said Wally Rogers, fundraising coordinator for the public-private partnership behind the Confluence Project. “We’re aiming for 100 contributions from 100 local businesses in the next 100 days.”
