Red Bird moves to Cascade Street

Red Bird music store moved mid month from its Third Avenue basement location to a storefront with a large display window on Osceola’s main drag.

Owner Robert Brace signed the lease on the building, formerly the Unlimited Styling salon, August 15.

“You can blame it all on Gwen [Wright, owner of the Looking Glass] across the street,” Brace joked.

Wright confirmed that she had encouraged Brace to rent the Cascade Street building.

“He has such great stuff to offer,” she said, adding that she regularly refers customers looking for instruments to Red Bird.

In addition to records, musical instruments and supplies, the shop offers guitar lessons with Kevin Loudin and voice and piano lessons with established songwriter Marissa Dodge.

“You can’t have a downtown without music,” Wright said, noting that Red Bird is now adjacent to Pitch Blue recording studio. “I think he’s going to bring a whole new clientele downtown.”
