Vudu Street Food: Soul food with a touch of magic

Soul food with a touch of magic. That's the way Christian Orosz describes the food at his new restaurant, Vudu Street Food, which opened on Friday, April 28, in New Richmond.
"We serve street food, since that is a culture and type of food I really enjoy. It is something you would find while walking down the streets of Mexico or Peru. To me, that is the real food," Orosz said. "The menu was really carried over from our two food trucks in Minneapolis, so kind of like bringing the food truck inside."
Vudu Street Food (121 S. Knowles Ave.) is the third restaurant Orosz has opened, including one in Florida, and the now closed Kitchen Market in Hudson.
"We were looking for a new location after closing our restaurant in Hudson, which we did because the revenue wasn't as good as we had thought it would be. I just moved to Roberts and I was out here exploring New Richmond ... I saw a for rent sign on the window and when I called they told me that there was a kitchen in the back. I fell in love with the brick wall and the space was perfect for the kind of food we were doing," Orosz said.
