Wisconsin public schools rank fifth in country, according to WalletHub

Wisconsin’s public school system has been ranked the fifth-best in the country by personal finance website WalletHub.com.

The top public school system according to the website is in Massachusetts followed by New Jersey, Connecticut and Vermont. School systems were ranked on several metrics including math and reading test scores, dropout rates, school safety, and average ACT and SAT scores.

Wisconsin ranked No. 1 in the country in school safety based on the percentage of public school students in grades 9 through 12 who reported being threatened or injured with a weapon on school property.
