More than 3,000 homegrown, academic discoveries are available for licensing by industries in Wisconsin – and it’s not that hard to shop for what you need.

Learn more about the patent portfolios of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation and its sister organization, WiSys, at the Tuesday, Feb. 19 meeting of the Tech Council Innovation Network in Eau Claire.

The luncheon will be held at the UW-Eau Claire Davies Center, 77 Roosevelt Avenue, Dakota Room. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for individual members, students and returning veterans, $35 for general admission and included for Tech Council corporate members. BECOME A MEMBER TODAY Panelists are Jennifer Cook, associate director for WiSys, which patents technologies developed through 11 UW System universities and licenses those inventions to companies; and Greg Keenan, accelerator program manager for Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, which is among the oldest and most successful technology transfer offices in the nation and is the designated patent and licensing organization for the UW-Madison.

Universities represented by WiSys in western Wisconsin are UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, UW-Stout, UW-La Crosse, UW-Platteville and UW-Superior.
