Bakken Young breaks ground for new facility

Jody Bakken Young and Brian Young were joined by members of the Bakken and Beebe families, New Richmond Mayor Fred Horne, city officials and representatives from the architectural, design and construction team Friday, May 11, in a groundbreaking ceremony at 728 S. Knowles Ave., site of their new funeral and cremation facility.

"We're really excited that Bakken Young chose New Richmond to build and expand their business from a business that has been here for 104 years. Keeping the new building on the ground that the Beebes originally owned in New Richmond is really important. We really appreciate what Jodie and Brian have done for the Beebes, taking over for them, the easy transition, how they treat the people who come into their business is amazing. All of us have been touched by them. We've all had services and things that they have done for us. On behalf of the Mayor and the City Council, we welcome you to this new location," said New Richmond Community Development Director Beth Thompson.
